SLHS Science teacher and IB students get PUBLISHED!

Over the past year, four of the IB students (Peyton Burger, Madeline Ellsberry, David Morgenstern, and Mara Strother) and their Science teacher Mr. Rob Cassady worked with Dr. Honda at the National Jewish Health Center, and in conjunction with 2 schools in Hawaii in a microbiological study of showerheads in Colorado and Hawaii.  As a result of this work, their paper will be published in FEMS Microbiology Letters which is a peer reviewed scientific journal.  The students and Mr. Cassady are coauthors for this article.

It's extremely rare for students still in high school to be published in a peer reviewed scientific journal, so this is very exciting and profound news for SLHS and the IB program.  This accomplishment is a tribute to of not only the great work of our students, but how amazingly talented and dedicated the SLHS staff is!

Congratulations!
