Principal’s Update
October Count | October Count Day this year is Monday, October 3. The most important action you can take to support school funding is to make sure your student attends school on that day. The “count window” the state observes is from Monday, September 26 through Monday, October 10, but the most important student count day is Monday, October 3. If your student will be absent on Monday, October 3 due to illness, call our attendance line, 303-982-3300 to report the absence. Attendance during the “count window” will help counteract an absence on Monday, October 3. |
Parent Teacher Conferences Oct. 4thIn-person | Conferences are Tuesday, October 4th and will be held @ SLHS. Teachers will be in the hallways or in designated zones(i.e. LMC, Cafeteria, Commons; as the gym is still unavailable). A map for each department and teacher location will be provided.

6 Week Grades | The first 6 week grades were posted this week. These grades represent approximately 1/3 of the entire first semester grade in classes. Since Parent Teacher conferences are next Tuesday night, we encourage you to review their grades so you can prioritize any teacher contact that may be needed. As a reminder, students can access additional help from the Writing Center, and the Math and Science studios during off hours. |
MYP Personal Projects | All 10th grade students will begin their Personal Projects in Advisement this week. This is a requirement for the Advisement class. As part of the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program, our 10th graders engage in this valuable exercise. |
Assessment Calendar | Use this Master Assessment Calendar to determine what assessments your student will be required to take throughout the school year. This also offers some insight into why the tests are given and how teachers use the results to monitor and adjust instruction. The dates are subject to change. |
